1950, Tehran. Seven-year-old Ellie lives in comfort, wanting for nothing, until the death of her father brings a drastic change in fortune. At school, she meets Homa. Together, the girls play games, wander through the Grand Bazaar and share their ambitions of becoming 'lion women' and the first generation of women fully working in Iran.
Opportunity allows Ellie and her mother to return to their bourgeois life, and Ellie's memories of Homa fade. But years later, her sudden reappearance in Ellie's privileged world alters the course of both of their lives.
As the political turmoil in Iran builds to a breaking point, one earth-shattering betrayal will have enormous consequences.

What locations do you ship to?
At the moment, we deliver throughout Kampala and surrounding areas for a flat fee of UGX 10,000. With time, we intend to expand shipping across Uganda.
How long does an order take to arrive once shipped?
All orders made are processed and shipped as soon as possible. However, for orders made before 11am, delivery will be made within 4 hours. We offer next-day deliveries for orders made after 11am. Transit time will vary from location to location. Depending on your location, you might receive your order much earlier.
We are mindful that there might be delays caused by factors beyond our control. If this is the situation, we will attempt our best efforts to deliver store-confirmed orders within 24 hours. Once a book has been purchased and delivery has been made, a return/refund is no longer possible. Only books that have been accessed via our “pick a book, leave a book” section can be exchanged for other titles offered in this section.
